Armstrong Garden Centers invites all California gardeners of any skill level to their upcoming free classes. During their April classes, customers are encouraged to come in to nurture their green thumbs and learn the benefits of good bugs, how to garden in small spaces, the steps to growing their own veggies and herb garden, and tips on organic gardening.

Armstrong Garden Centers’ scheduled workshops for April 2015:

• Saturday, Apr. 11, 9:00 a.m., Sunday, Apr. 12, 10:00 a.m. – Growing Vegetables and Herbs – Nothing is more rewarding than growing your own veggies and herbs! You’ll learn all the essentials for planting, growing and caring for homegrown veggies and herbs.

• Saturday, Apr. 18, 9:00 a.m., Sunday, Apr. 19, 10:00 a.m. – Small Space Gardening – Make the most of any outdoor space with our unique ideas for small spaces. From planters to patios, you’ll get inspiration for any small space.

• Saturday, Apr. 25, 9:00 a.m. – Ladybugs and Other Good Bugs – Celebrate Ladybug Weekend at Armstrong Garden Centers. Many insects are excellent garden helpers. Learn which plants are best for attracting these beneficial bugs as well as what they can do to help your garden flourish.

• Sunday, Apr. 26, 10:00 a.m. – Organic Gardening – Learn everything you need about starting your own organic garden. We’ll focus on building soil health and problem solving using organic products and techniques.

Each class will be instructed by a nursery professional who will offer timely gardening advice and hands-on demonstrations. Advance registration or RSVP is not required to attend. Classes are open to gardeners of all levels. Armstrong Garden Centers also offers free garden talks from its experts for local garden clubs, homeowners associations and other small groups in the community.
