Armstrong Garden Centers invites California gardeners of all skill levels to its free upcoming classes this September and October. The subject of each class will encourage attendees to nurture their green thumbs and learn more about succulents, decorative fall container gardening, how to grow your own vegetables and much more. The classes will be available to attend at all 32 store locations throughout California.
Armstrong Garden Centers’ scheduled workshops for September 2015:
Saturday, September 5, 9:00 a.m. – Easy-to-Grow Succulents – Show off your personal style by creating a small garden paradise. Armstrong experts give you the know-how and special tips for success.
Saturday, September 12, 9:00 a.m. – Grow What You Eat – There’s a wonderful assortment of great-tasting veggies to plant for fall, winter and early spring. Learn what to plant.
Saturday, September 19, 9:00 a.m. – Gardening Basics – This class will teach you what you need to begin gardening. You’ll learn how to determine your soil type and sunlight, what to consider when choosing a plant and general planting and watering information.
Saturday, September 26, 9:00 a.m. – Attract Songbirds to Your Backyard – Learn which plants to grow to attract these beautiful garden guests. Gardening experts will also discuss birdfeeders and birdseed mixes.

Saturday, October 17, 9:00 a.m. – Fall Container Gardens – Bring a warm, fall mood to your porch, patio or courtyard with a colorful fall planter.
Saturday, October 24, 9:00 a.m. – Selecting the Right Roses for Your Garden – There are lots of types and lots of choices. How do you know which are right for your needs and garden? Our gardening experts will give you tips and ideas for easy choosing.
Saturday, October 31, 9:00 a.m. – Halloween Make & Take – This class will be a treat! Kids will transplant a colorful flowering plant into a charming Halloween container. Each class will be instructed by a nursery professional who will offer timely gardening advice and hands-on demonstrations. Advance registration is not required to attend any classes except for the Pumpkin and Succulents Make & Take and Halloween Make & Take. Classes are open to gardeners of all levels.
