Armstrong Garden Centers Announce January 2015 Free Classes Schedule

Armstrong Garden Centers kicks off the new year with exciting free classes in January 2015. Customers are encouraged to come in and learn about creating beautiful displays with houseplants, rose and fruit tree pruning and how to create your own fairy garden.

Armstrong Garden Centers’ scheduled workshops for January 2015:

· Saturday, Jan. 3, 8:00 a.m. – Designing with Houseplants – Just about every photo in fashionable home décor magazines features rooms with gorgeous houseplants. We’ll teach you how to decide which house plants will enhance your décor and how to take care of them.

· Saturday, Jan. 10, 9:00 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 18, 10:00 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 24, 9:00 a.m. – Rose Pruning – We’ll demystify rose pruning with our class and demonstration. Learn how pruning keeps plants healthy and promotes lots of gorgeous blooms.

· Saturday, Jan. 10, 11:00 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 24, 11:00 a.m. – Fruit Tree Pruning – Pruning fruit trees is easy once you understand the basics. We’ll demonstrate the simple principles. (Citrus pruning will be covered in our citrus care class later in the year).

· Saturday, Jan. 17, 9:00 a.m. – Orchid Care – Growing orchids is easy once you understand the basic types. We’ll show you the simple steps of repotting.

· Saturday, Jan. 31, 9:00 a.m. – Creating a Fairy Garden – Fairy gardens are fun and enchanting and everyone has room to garden on a small scale. Armstrong experts will show you how to create your own personal, imaginative world.

Each class will be instructed by a nursery professional who will offer timely gardening advice and hands-on demonstrations. Advance registration or RSVP is not required to attend. Classes are open to gardeners of all levels. Armstrong Garden Centers also offers free garden talks from the experts for local garden clubs, homeowners associations and other small groups in the community.
